India has won the first online cricket world cup at StickCricket.com – the world’s most popular online cricket game.
The Stick Sports World Cup was a competition based on the worldwide results of The Stick Cricket Super 8s – an online World Cup cricket game.
The Stick Sports World Cup plunged players into the World Cup at the Super 8 stage. Players took control of their national team and had to chase down a score in each quick-fire match to progress through the competition and on to the final. Each time a player won the World Cup, one point was added to their team’s total.
India’s cricket fans hit the competition out of the park, scoring 16,928 victories – a massive 4,842 more victories than Sri Lanka (12,086) who came in second place.

StickCricket.com’s World Cup Revamp
Competitors in the Stick Sports World Cup were treated to a host of game improvements including new graphics, game functions, player security and statistics.
The new in-game features are now available worldwide and include the introduction of left-handed batsmen and bowlers and a bigger, brighter flaming vapour trail appears when Stick Cricketers hit a six.
Players can now build, name and customise their own cricket team for the very first time. Registered users can create and name a team of friends or cricketing heroes, alter the batting order before the match begins, select a team kit and play against a team of cricketing all stars.
The fans’ favourite All Star Slog game has been revamped. Stick Cricketers can bat with any team from the 2007 Cricket World Cup, from Bangladesh to Bermuda. Players can choose to play in 5, 10, 20 or 50 over matches. Registered users can save their progress in the 50 over version of the game.
StickCricket.com has enhanced its security and player statistics. The watercooler is set to become the newest office battleground as players brag over their record of total runs scored, balls faced, matches played, and boundaries hit. Using a career run rate graph, users can analyse their Stick Cricketing career. StickCricket.com also records when users hit a ‘perfect over’ of 36 runs, emulating the batting heroics of South Africa’s Herschelle Gibbs.
